Nothing's wrong with them

A common reaction that we all give to a generation after ours is, “what’s wrong with them?”

If you consider the moment and understand the age category/ the time at which they stand you would understand that there is nothing much that is wrong with them, it is you who has already passed that stage of your life but are yet being inconsiderate. The kids who look naughty to you, whom you stop from mischief are like your own past, the college goings giggling around are like your very group a decade ago or so. The fresher at office may seem a little less dedicated just because their exposure to life has been different. It is not the entire generation but the individual and his exposure that needs to be analyzed.

The things that you did then seemed right to you when you were at that stage of life, so why question them now? Many of you have grown up, been there done that and learnt from it, but it doesn’t imply that you start commenting or express irritation to what you see them doing now. While few of you may express concerns because you have learnt the hard way around, but you should also remember that certain lessons are best learnt through personal experience.

I don’t want you to leave the generation unguided or ignored, but I rather want you to understand the fine line between mentoring and policing. Best of your intentions should result in a better understanding of situation followed by making others aware of pros and cons and not passing an irrational judgment or a loose statement.

Next time you see the generation after you, try to relate to your actions of the past along with the learnings that you carry now. You could grow only because someone else did not live that life for you. You best learnt from guidance and not unexplained implementations.

Show a picture that looks meaningful and informative and not a piece of rules and regulations.

Never forget the treatment you wished in childhood.
