I was once discussing about karmas and how they affect our future, future here doesn’t really means time that is to come our way in long term but it also means immediate moments to come. Since last two days I have been observing reactions and analyzing them, I did the same today as well when I choose to control my immediate reaction and turn it to an intellectual reaction instead. This was possible only because I gave myself some time to think before I reacted, it also involved putting myself in other persons shoes and empathizing. Other important factor that affected my reaction was that I wanted peace and wanted to express my care for the person and let the person know that I understand you.
We always have a choice to choose an I for our reactions, our reactions are mostly amongst these 3 I’s, I-Instant, I-Illogical, I-Intellectual. Having been said this, our reactions also depend on the kind of circumstances we are in, the state of our mind and many other factors, but when we talk about growing as a person we need to learn to have control over our mind and cut the influence of external resources on it.
Next time choose an I before you react, for it defines you as a person and affects your relationship with the other person. Your carelessness might only lead to regrets, but one watchful step would make life easy for both of you. You need to work as water on fire and not fuel, learn the art to defuse the nuclear reaction of negativity.
