We humans have an amazing skill to deal with delays. It's surprising how big a hypocrite can we be, depending on the either end we are at.
What I often fail to understand is how even the most logical person can come up with such funny excuses or reactions.
Saying you are 5 minutes away even though you are no way close wouldn't really decrease your distance/ time of delay. You might as well speak one truth and be calm for rest of the time.
Looking at watch every minute wouldn't increase/decrease the waiting time.
Pressing that button of lift frequently every few seconds would not get it faster to your floor.
Honking in traffic jams and skipping red lights wouldn't really help.
There are high chances that the cabbie is driving fine. Most likely, your stressful expressions and aggression over the phone are driving him crazy.
Not picking calls or not responding to messages will not help you reach on time.
Most of the excuses are a resultant of self created situations. Half of them really never existed they were a result of manipulation to the real situation. The root cause of delay was probably the lack of intent/will.
Having said that I completely have been a victim like you, of the strange law of universe that does everything possible to increase your delay.
Only solution is to be on time every time.
Also, you probably wouldn't have got late if you used your mobile wisely.
P.S :- Sorry for the delay in posting last week's blog.
