I was on board the aircraft flying to Mumbai from Delhi, while we are expecting an on time arrival earlier but then came an announcement from cockpit crew announcing 15 minutes delay. Following it came another announcement stating 25 minutes delay, and now I had the first panic attack of missing my flight back to Delhi. I knew I would be able to manage somehow but yes I was little tensed of the last minute hassle. As a step to save on few precious minutes I decided to relocate myself at the forward of the aircraft. While I didn’t want to trouble any passenger but then just having the middle seat vacant I had to trouble the aisle passenger. I did apologize for trouble and seek permission before taking the seat. To justify the inconvenience caused to him, I said I am sorry but I have connecting flight which I might miss, at which he asked me what time is your departure and I told 1930, they were 45 minutes left and we were still on descent. He said don’t worry you would get the flight and I just smiled. I said well I think we are just circling as yet, he said know we are about to land and then he started suggesting me ways to get through early not knowing that I am a staff only and would have ways to co-ordinate, I just kept listening to him patiently and acknowledged his suggestions. In between all this conversation I suddenly noticed that how we don’t notice at times that our thought process suddenly turns nnegative. While I was ready to see all challenges coming my mway I was not ready to acknowledge that I had the power to take care of all the challenges coming my way.
All of us go through such times when we come under the influence of panic and forget our potentials.
Next time when you face such panic attack, relax for a while and look at self, may be you have the solutions right within.
