Relationships
Emotions or emoticons

As Google corrects one of the emoticons on user feedback and what's app launches many more every now and then, I realize how technology has now started taking control over our emotions and expressions. I would start by confessing the incident when I happened to say lol over a conversation that was made in person.

Has technology given us one more reason to become lazy? How healthy are these emoticons for our emotional health? Do we really express what we feel or do we just send an emoticon in some social pressure? Would we really be passing those kisses, hugs and smileys to those people whom we endlessly keep sending through these emoticons? Honestly I would have worried less if we could manage our anger by just sending that angry smiley and take control over ourselves and come back to real smiles in no time. What has started happening in reality is that we seldom smile in person and often prolong anger.

We might have found a new way to express, but it has strangely restricted the most beautiful emotions to emoticons and killed the essence of sharing real emotions in person. The smile now hardly comes from heart and barely twinkles in our eyes. I don't really remember when I last really ROFL, I have definitely learnt that there are more expressions than what I could live in reality but there are lesser moments that I really live now.

I  am not sure if we have become more expressive or expressionless when away from our devices. Well, on a lighter note it is easier and very cost effective to now pass on flowers, bottles of wine, cakes and gifts. Ahh I wouldn't mind gifting cars and houses too. After all its all a finger touch away.
