Inspiration for today’s blog comes from the security hold area at Mumbai Airport, I saw a lady placing one of her expensive branded bags in tray and seemed too worried about it not getting dirty or getting scratched. It immediately reminded me of the movie Zindagi Na MIlegi dobara and the bagmati in it. Now since this started running in my mind I could actually re-collect many more incidents like this, where people at various times took extra care of their special materialistic babies. My friend once refused to let anyone else carry her bag for it was expensive and she thought she can best handle it any why not it was worth some lakh rupees. At other times I remember my friends being too possessive about their vehicles and how a scratch on it raises their temper. I have seen parents shouting at their children when they mistakenly break any of the expensive items or toys, at these times I wonder what is more important? Investment of money on these materialistic babies or their own blood on which they have invested all emotions and time. It’s good to teach others to value money but before you go ahead and take a class next time, I hope you would pay it a thought, “what is more important, humans with emotions or these materialistic things?”. A heart that breaks or gets hurt with your nasty comments and rude behavior is much more important and is invaluable as compared to these materialistic babies, I am sure!!
