Relationships
Your own rule book

We often criticise our constitution for not being revised to meet today’s times and be future ready, how often do we visit our rule book? To begin with, do we have one or do we keep functioning on habits that were developed over a period of years. Some of which were a result of what our parents and surroundings taught us during childhood and they got engrained in our subconscious mind. Creating rules need deliberate discussion and introspection. Once decided these rules need to be implemented even if it means a struggle of breaking long formed habits.

You should begin with self love not forgetting the difference between selfishness or self obsession. While we get influenced from the society and changing conditions certain values around humanity and ethics should remain in our rule books forever. Be it sharing a piece of our pie with underprivileged or taking out some time to give back to society. What also should form a part of our life is spending time with nature, understanding the impact that each one of us has created and ensuring we take small steps towards fighting global warming. Using public transport, walking short distances, replacing showers with half a bucket of water, growing plants/ trees at home/neighbourhood etc. These measures have been suggested to each one of us since childhood and will continue to be on suggestive list. All of which are only effective when implemented.

The last must have- contentment, no matter how much you have or how less you feel you have, always remember you have much more than that a few lakh people in this world have.
