Relationships
on going process

A new hobby that I have adopted is to be a part time cook, not professional of course but a weekend cook at home and while I am not an immature cook but  I have been so absent from kitchen that my grand mom and mom are ever ready to give me tips on how to cook, what to do and what not to do. Here comes and honest confession, I did listen to few of the tips and gave my explanations to the way I was doing things but yes after few more suggestions, I lost my patience and moved out of the kitchen saying that you may continue cooking, I am not interested at which definitely my elderlies felt bad and so did I after a while after I was back to normal. Now was the time to analyze situation and learn as to why did such unpleasant situation occur, and here comes learning’s form it.

  • A was confident on self and had a mind frame of I know it all, while I could have choose to patiently listen to them and see what was there in it to learn for me. For learning is an ongoing process and it should never end and there was no harm in at least listening to them.
  • When you see a new person attempting to perform his/her skills don’t interrupt let the person be as he/she would best learn from his/her own experience and short comings.
  • There should be only one mentor to each person, multiple mentors might only end up in spoiling the gist of mentorship program.
  • It is not always necessary to give input on everything until or unless required.
